“You can never please God without faith, without depending on Him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that He rewards those who sincerely look for Him.”

“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.”

If I had only forgotten future greatness
and looked at the green things and the buildings
and reached out to those around me
and smelled the air
and ignored the forms and the self-styled obligations
and heard the rain on the roof
and put my arms around my wife
and it’s not too late.

It’s not too late to be what you might have been.
I saw myself a prisoner to all the things I’ve been.
I saw the play repeat itself reliving every scene.
But then I heard a voice that said step out and choose again,
step out and live, step out and love,
be what you might have been.

He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need there is.

Set your inner compass on the road that leads you home, over rocks that bruise and tear through the night when no one’s there. Live your life a constant prayer.

“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.

“To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement. Then it becomes a mistress. Then it becomes a master. Then it becomes a tyrant. And the last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster and fling him out to the public.”

“When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.”
