About Me

Russ PondMy name is Russell Pond, and I’m from a small town just south of Austin called San Marcos. My father was a professional photographer. For many years, he took everyone’s wedding picture or high school picture. After graduating high school, I attended Southwest Texas State University (now called Texas State). After attending for 3 years, I transferred to the University of Texas at Austin, where I graduated with a bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

After graduating college, I moved to Dallas/Ft. Worth where I was hired by Uniden. After working there for 10 years, I went to work for Nokia. I worked there for 6 years and then resigned to start my own business, a media production company called Top Pup Media. In 2007, I spent the year producing my first feature film called Fissure.

My brother, Randy, works as a programmer in Austin. My mom continues working part time for the Hays County. My father passed away in September 2009.

In 1992, I met a beautiful woman, Angela, at the church we were attending at the time called Shady Grove Church. Exactly a year later, we were married. We live in Euless, Texas which is still in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. We are now members of Gateway Church. We often lead small groups and help out with altar ministry.

Angela enjoys being a mom and wife. She graduated from University of North Texas with a degree in Education. Today, she is back in college learning Spanish.

In 1993, our son Caleb was born. And what a joy! We have so much fun as a family, playing games and traveling. In the summer of 2006, Angela spent an entire month in Guanajuato, Mexico learning Spanish. To surprise her, Caleb and I drove all the way down from Dallas. It was a great time! Also, after releasing Fissure, Caleb was approached by a local agent, and is now being represented for acting and modeling work. Check out his website.

We enjoy spending time together as a family. We often travel to Pagosa Springs, Colorado for family ski trips.

My wife and I tend to eat vegetarian because of the teachings of Dr. Malkmus of Hallelujah Acres. It has proven to be one of the most healthy choices we’ve made. Caleb still enjoys his buffalo hamburgers.

I thank God for the blessing of a peaceful, joyful family. We praise God for his provision, his blessing and his peace!
