This week, I’ve had some trouble sleeping. Not sure why, but it’s frustrating only getting a few hours of sleep a night. On Monday, I found these wonderful verses from Psalms 4. Good stuff.
It opens with: Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer. (v1)
And closes with: I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety (verse 8).
Read it. Ponder it. Dwell on the goodness of God. Through the strength and encouragement of this verse, I now spend my sleepless evenings in prayer and worship. If I am unable to sleep, then at least I will enjoy that time with my Father.
